The Valentine's Post

Hello guys!

Valentine's Day is an occasion which is hugely divided, you either love it or you hate it. I personally love any excuse to celebrate, and I feel it's a wonderful time of year just to show some extra appreciation to your loved ones. So, with this in mind I thought I'd put together a little Valentine's inspired post on what to do and what to buy!

Where to Go

1. Home-cooked Dinner
I'm a firm believer in the fact that you don't have to spend money to have fun. So, one great thing to do is to organise a wonderful handmade meal for your partner, of all their favourite things. Mainly, don't forget a cheeky dessert!

2. West-end Show/Cinema
If you happen to be lucky enough to live near London, Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to treat yourselves to a show. Although pricey, there are many deals on this time of year if you choose a day around Valentine's Day. Along with this, there are so many art house cinemas - such as the Curzon - which offer a romantic date idea.

3. Get your friends together!
Even if you're not in a relationship on Valentine's Day, use it as an excuse for a day or evening out with friends! Go treat yourself to that restaurant you've been eyeing up since Christmas!

What to Buy

1. Cards
Personally, I don't believe in the need to spend a great deal of money on a Valentine's gift, and prefer the personal touch. Find a cute or jokey card with meaning behind it, and it'll mean much more than a generic expensive gift! (Check out notonthehighstreet, or Paperchase)

2. Lobster Biscuit
This is super random but had to get a mention. I got this present for Josh last year and it's one of my favourite ideas ever. If you're buying a gift for a Friends fan, this is the one!

3. 'Favourite Things' Hamper
If you're looking to buy the person who has everything a present, this is the perfect solution. Buy a little box and fill it up with all their favourite chocolates, sweets, DVDs, snacks... and whatever else they love to show them how much the little things in life matter.

I hope this post has given you all some ideas of what to buy and do this Valentine's Day. Oh and don't forget, Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to crack out the Red Lip!

Love,

Soph xx
